Reliving a decisive encounter On Saturday, the 20th of November, the traditional Feast of the Encounter of the Rose was held in Pallerols de Rialb. With this event we remember, once more, the fact that St. Josemaría Escrivá found in the interior of the church of Pallerols a golden rose of wood that filled him with peace at a time when he had many doubts and strong internal suffering wondering if he was fulfilling God’s will by going to Andorra or not. It was Monday, the 22nd of November, 1937.
The day began with rain, but even with adverse weather, at about 10:30 am a group of about 30 people went to the Hut of San Rafael, also visiting the pond, and returning to the church of Pallerols after 12 noon . By that time it had stopped raining which allowed the procession to procede normally.
Meanwhile, another group of about 20 people visited the “oven” and attended the explanations and readings of historic documents that tell of the events that happened the night of the 21st and morning of November 22nd, 1937.
At 12:30 pm the procession started around the church bearing the image of the Virgen del Rosario. Then the Mass began which was celebrated by Msgr. Joan Pujol, Vicar General of the diocese of Urgell. Concelebrants were Msgr. Bonifaci Fortuny, the priest in charge of the churches of the Barony of Rialb, and Msgr. Joaquim Monrós, priest of the Prelature of Opus Dei, born in La Seu d’Urgell. The Mass was offered for four dear friends and members who departed this world in 2010: Maria Pilar Torra (October 24), Francesc Beato (November 7) , Eusebi Riart (November 1) and Domingo Inglavaga (May 20). After Mass, Msgr. Bonifaci prayed at the cemetery, a requiem for the deceased of Pallerols.
The Association provided the audience a snack, and then about 40 people had lunch on the outskirts of Pallerols or in nearby houses.
At 4 pm the Rosary was prayed in the church and at the end relics of Saint Josemaría were venerated.
Although the day began rainy, it only rained on and off and did not prevent the completion of all planned events. At about 5 pm the clouds were dissipating and we could even see the sun as it was hiding in the west, decorating Pallerols with reddish tones.
In short, it was a beautiful day, in which more than 140 people attended the Feast of the Encounter of the Rose. We enjoyed a rewarding family party.

¡Qué “pasada”! ¡Lástima que no pude ir! Pero iré en otro momento, acompañada de personas expertas parra llegar correctamente. Mientras ver esto es un consuelo que da ánimo.

Felicidades a l’ Associació d’Amics del Camí de Pallerols por la Fiesta de la Rosa que cada año se hace, ya puede hacer frio o llover que la fiesta va para adelante. Este año aún con la lluvia también hicimos la excursión hasta la cabaña y la balsa.
Quiero agradecer al Sr. Octavio todas las explicaciones referentes al lugar y los hechos alli sucedidos, también por sus conocimientos
”boletaires” junto con el Sr. Ricard. Gracias a ellos pudimos coger por el camino algunos rovellons y fredulics y posteriormente en casa cocinarlos con unas albóndigas con salsa fricandó. Estaban buenísimos.
Com que no vaig poder anar hi, m’a fet molta illusió veure el reportatge a la web i em sento molt a prop de tots el amics del Camí de Pallerols de Rialb a Andorra, fins i tot que soc una mica lluny
