Route 03: Ribalera – Fenollet
Route Description:
Section 3: From l’Espluga de les Vaques to Las Masies de Nargó
We leave the Espluga de les Vaques in a westerly direction under the rock that descends from the Aubenç, always following the blue and yellow markings.
We will leave the Picalt Roig to the left and we will reach a pass (1 hour), we will cross the ravine and climb, always leaving on our right the ravine that descends from the Canal de la Jaça, which we will climb until we reach the flat at the top of the canal (1 hour).
Shortly afterwards we will pass the Prat fountain (20 minutes) and in another 20 minutes the Casa d’Aubenç.
We will go down through the forest with sections that coincide with the track that goes up to l’Aubenç until we reach in 2 hours the road that goes from Coll de Nargó to Isona (L-511) to the bridge over the Valldarques river (Codó bridge ), after leaving the houses of the Masies de Nargó on the right.
It should be borne in mind that when going down the north side of l’Aubenç, before reaching the houses of Aubàs, leave the track that passes through Aubàs on the right and continue to the left along the track that passes through the Censada’s private property. This track has a wooden fence at the entrance and another at the exit. Try to leave them closed when you’ve passed.
We will do the entire route in about 5 hours.

We will continue to climb, turning little by little to the right, to cross the ravine. We will find the old Montanissell path that we will follow until we reach the Comalavall hut (1 h. 10 min).
Here you can rest for a while and contemplate, towards the northeast, the Coll de Santa Fe, where we are heading, and above it the hermitage of the same name; beyond the Cadí and other mountains that you will be able to distinguish perfectly.
We will continue along the track in the direction of Montanissell, but after 100 meters we will turn right entering the Obaga de Fontanet forest and reach the ravine of the Mountain which we will follow for about 50 meters and cross.
