Pallerols reach from the farthest part of the world

On the 18th September, 50 young men from Sidney (Australia) who were involved in building the foundations of the Opus Dei in the country, arrived at Barcelona’s airport after a 36 hour journey. As soon as they arrived, they attended a mass at the Basilica of the Sagrada Família, led by the priest that accompanied the group. They stayed in one of the Opus Dei’s youth club called Daumar.

The next day (19th September) they made their way to Pallerols by coach. At 11:30 they arrived at Oliana, where Jordi Piferrer and Francesc Mora Ortega were waiting to serve as guides for the day.

At 12:15 they arrived at Pallerols and there started the guided tour, with historical texts, of the rectory and the church.

The mass started at 13:30. After which they headed towards Peramola to visit the haystack barn and enjoy lunch. They all had plenty to eat at the ‘Fonda la Masia’, which was enjoyed by everyone.

They left at 16:00 to go to Torreciudad, where they arrived at 19:00.

They planned to travel to Santiago de Compostella to complete a section of the Camino de Santiago. On the 27th and 28th they attended the Beatification of D. Alvaro del Portillo in Madrid, later traveling to Rome on the same coach before flying back to Australia.

A very busy journey, in which Pallerols could not have been missed out because of the significance this place has for all those who want to relive the journey Josemaría did in these lands of Lleida and Andorra in the autumn on 1937.
