Route 04: Fenollet – Baridà
Route Description:
Section 6: From Fenollet to the Cabó road (near Oliva)
We leave Fenollet and head north-east to overcome the mountains in front of us. We will see that there are three ravines that come down from these mountains: we will cross the first two and go up the third ravine called Canal del Grau del Fangueret (1 hour). After passing the canal we will reach a grove and after a descent we will continue along the track that leads us to the Coll de Santa Fe (30 min). Here you can rest and go up, if you want, to the hermitage of Santa Fe (15 min).
You pass the Coll descending towards the Vall de Cabó. First you follow a path that leads to Coll Marí and Organyà, but after 50 meters you have to take a detour to the left that goes straight down into the forest towards a track marked Ruta dels Dolmens (1 hour) . We will follow the track for a few meters to leave it very soon and enter the forest following the blue and yellow signs, to quickly reach the road that goes from Organyà to the villages and houses of the Cabó valley, very close to the House of the Olive (30 min).

Section 7: From Carretera de Cabó to Bordeta de Baridà
We leave the Cabó road, before reaching l’Oliva, and go down to the Cabó river (15 minutes). We cross it and start to climb the mountain of Ares, passing near some abandoned vineyards that we leave on the right. We go up and cross the scree diagonally until we find the old path of Ares, which we will not leave until close to the village, which is lost again, but without difficulty we reach Ares (2 h. 30 min).
After the village we continue to Coll d’Ares (10 min.) and following the dirt track we will reach the ruined Bordeta de Baridà (45 min.), also called Borda de Conorbau. The 1937 expedition rested on this shore on November 30.
From this point you can see to the northeast, at the bottom of the valley, the Pla de Sant Tirs and the Seu d’Urgell and to the west the houses of Conorbau.
