From the Bellestar Sports Centre to Sant Julià de Lòria
For 12 years, at the end of November, we have been organizing a Night Race and Walk called “Rosa del Nord”, in memory of the people persecuted by the Pyrenees mountains seeking freedom during the Spanish Civil War of 1936-39 and the Second World War of 1942-45.
This year we are holding it on the night of November 29 to 30.
The “Rosa del Nord” goes from the Bellestar Sports Centre to Sant Julià de Lòria (Andorra) and was a common route for fugitives who followed the Segre route to enter Andorra. It is a 22 km stretch and 1,600 m of accumulated positive elevation gain.
Those who participate in the “Rosa del Nord” identify with all the fugitives and those persecuted by totalitarian ideologies around the world and that is why we walk at night, without food and in adverse weather conditions, since it is done at the gates of winter, practically coinciding with the last stage of an expedition in which, among others, Saint Josemaría Escrivà de Balaguer was part, who entered Andorra on the night of December 1 to 2, 1937.
The organization will be in charge of Toni Cucurull, of the Association of Friends of the Pallerols Path from Rialb to Andorra and Gerard Riart of the Andorran company VSL.
-The Walk will start at 3:00 p.m. at the Bellestar Sports Center and will end at the Sant Julià Sports Center in Lòria. The fastest will take about 5-6 hours and the slowest about 7-8 hours.
-The Race will start at the same place at 5:30 p.m.
There will be volunteers located along the route to help walkers with difficulties.
Come with your family and friends, and register here.
The prices, which will be paid before departure, are: Walk €32, Run €48
