View of Pallerols

On the Sunday before Epiphany, with a bright sun and the intense cold typical of these dates, a small group of friends (from Barcelona, ​​Pamplona, ​​Lima and Mexico) visited Pallerols.

For almost all the members of the group, this was the first time they had visited the place. This was the case of Quico, Pablo and Sebas.

During the visit they were accompanied and guided at all times by Octavio, a volunteer from the Association of Friends of Pallerols.

The group with their names

They began the visit in the premises of the reconstructed old rectory, where they recalled the details of the hours that St. Josemaría and his companions spent there on the night of November 21-22, 1937.

In the so-called “oven”

The memory of the encounter with the rose of Rialb and the visit to the chapel where the Virgin of Roser is venerated were intense moments, especially for Sebas, from Peru, and Quico, from Mexico, who from such a long distance had a somewhat vague idea of ​​these places.

Fr. Pablo, from Pamplona, ​​then celebrated Mass in the church of Pallerols. We then continued our visit with the route from Pallerols to the Saint Raphael Cabin, from where we were able to contemplate the panoramic view of the Ribalera ravine and the Aubenç mountain range, places where the first of the five night marches that St. Josemaría and his companions made in 1937 on their long journey to Andorra ended.

After lunch at the Pallerols refuge, we concluded our visit, which was a real early gift for the feast of the Three Kings.
