On Saturday, November 23, 2024, we will celebrate the traditional Festival of the Gathering of the Rose in Pallerols de Rialb, organized by the Association of Friends of the Camino from Pallerols de Rialb to Andorra.

The day will begin at 11:30 with the screening of a documentary about Saint Josemaría’s journey of escape towards Andorra. The video highlights the difficulties and sufferings endured by the members of the group, which included Saint Josemaría, and especially describes the anguish that the saint experienced on the night of November 21-22, 1937, as he questioned whether or not he was doing the Lord’s will by continuing the journey to Andorra. The rose he found in the church, in the early morning of the 22nd, filled him with peace and confirmed his decision to continue to Andorra, certain that he was following God’s will.

At 12:00, there will be a guided tour of the rectory and the church, followed by a procession at 12:30 around the church with the image of Our Lady of the Rosary, while singing the traditional hymns to the Virgin of the Rosary of Pallerols.

Once inside the church, around 12:50, the Holy Mass will be celebrated, which this year will be presided over by Mons. Joan-Enric Vives, Archbishop of Urgell, and concelebrated by the Vicar of the Delegation of Opus Dei in Catalonia and Andorra, Mn. Ignasi Pujol, and other priests of the bishopric of Urgell and of the Prelature of Opus Dei.

At the end of the Eucharist, we will go to the cemetery to say a prayer for the deceased in Pallerols.

Those who wish can have lunch in the surroundings of Pallerols. There will be a fire available for grilling or heating up whatever people bring to eat.

At 4:00 PM, as every year, the Rosary will be prayed, followed by the veneration of the relics of Saint Josemaría.
