The starting point was near the Cortiuda refuge, but we didn’t begin the route until all 13 participants arrived—some had mistakenly gone all the way to the refuge itself.

The first kilometers took us through lush forests, following a gentle ascent to Tossal de Torrent (km 2.4). The first major landmark awaited us: the imposing Roca del Corb. There, we explored the Corb house, an old shelter under the rock overhang that still preserves different spaces: the oven, areas for livestock, and the fireplace zone—a silent witness to the passage of many travelers over time. From the Mirador de les Roques del Corb (km 4.2), the view stretched over the entire Segre valley.

After crossing Coll de Mur, we headed towards the Ribalera Ravine, a significant spot along the path. There, Jordi gave us a historical overview of the events linked to this place—a site of refuge and hope during difficult times. We knew the biggest challenge was ahead: the steep ascent through Canal de la Jaça.

The climb took us to the highest part of the itinerary, where, around two in the afternoon, we took a break to regain our strength. A quick meal, just enough time to breathe and take in the surroundings, but we couldn’t linger for long—the sun had disappeared, and the cold was beginning to set in.

We then tackled the final stretch of the route, leaving the Pallerols-to-Andorra path at the Aubenç houses to start the return journey. The terrain was rocky but well-marked with yellow signs belonging to the so-called Collada de l’Aubenç trail. We descended through Coll de Creus (km 16.6) along a rocky path until we reached the magnificent house of Can Bernadí.

Upon returning to the cars, we said our goodbyes, filled with the satisfaction that comes from an intense day in the mountains. We were already thinking about the next excursion to continue discovering the Pallerols-to-Andorra route.
