From Granada, Jaen and Malaga
A group of girls from Granada, Malaga and Jaén, from various youth clubs, have taken advantage of Holy Week to make a very intense meeting and to know a little more about the life of Saint Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer.
In addition to visiting Barcelona and the Sanctuary of Torreciudad (El Grado, Huesca), on 11 and 12 April (Tuesday and Holy Wednesday) we met Pallerols and all the history that surrounds him.
We arrived in Pallerols on Tuesday morning, and after leaving the bags and organizing where we were (we were a very large group), Jordi gave us a guided tour of the rectory, the church of Pallerols, and summed us up perfectly. Step of the Pyrenees that made San Josemaría with a group of young boys in the middle of the civil war. After the explanation and the visit, we ate sandwiches in “la plaza”, and then we went to the San Rafael hut. The girls liked the route very much, and to know where San Josemaría and his friends were hidden during a week. When the whole group arrived, we took the time to pray the rosary there, and returned to the rectory. In the afternoon, two priests came and celebrated the Holy Mass.
Then we had dinner and played a game of “burn”, which won the monitors. So, it was going to be played the rematch, but finally there was no time.
The next day, we spent the morning in Pallerols and then came to pick up our bus to return to Torreciudad.
The experience was very good, all the girls were very happy: having been in the country, having known what happened there many years ago, one of the most exciting stories of the life of St. Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer. In addition, to have been able to have there also the Holy Mass, have made that this memory will not be erased to us never.
For all this, thank you very much and we hope to return soon.
