Last Thursday, December 5, the seminarians of Barcelona visited the diocese of Solsona, which allowed us to deepen our faith, enjoy the historical and cultural richness of the region, and connect with nature in an environment full of spirituality.

Our day began with the warm welcome of Fr. Marc, who guided us through the Cathedral of Solsona. This place, full of history and architectural beauty, offered us a space for prayer. There, we had the opportunity to sing to the Virgin of the Cloister, a moment of contemplation and praying for the vocations of this diocese.

Afterwards, we walked through the streets of the center of Solsona, to finally head to Castellvell. From this point, although it was already night, we were able to enjoy the view of the city and its surroundings. In the evening we had the pleasure of having Bishop Conesa with us and having a time to meet and ask about the diocese, the Synod that had concluded in Rome and in which he participated.

Friday began with a mass in the chapel of the seminary in Solsona, followed by a breakfast that gave us strength for our next adventure: Pallerols de Rialb. Our goal was the church of Sant Esteve de Pallerols, a place of great spiritual significance.

After parking the cars, we began a walk that took us to the Cabin of Saint Raphael.

Then passing by the farmhouse of Can Empordanés on the way back to Pallerols. The beauty of the landscape and the views of the church made this excursion an unforgettable experience. Upon arrival, we prayed the Angelus together in the church, and we began to cook a Paella; several seminarians took the initiative, while the rest collaborated in the preparations. We shared this meal outdoors, under the sun, with conversations that strengthened friendship and community.

After lunch, Ramón, who accompanied us, transported us to another era with his explanation of the historical importance of Pallerols during the Spanish Civil War.

He told us about the many people, including St. Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer, who found refuge in this hermitage while crossing the Pyrenees to Andorra. The story of Escrivá and his discovery of a wooden rose, which he interpreted as a divine sign, left a deep impression on us. This account made us reflect on the sacrifice and faith of those who, in adverse circumstances, trusted in God and in the protection of the Virgin Mary.

We entrusted ourselves to the Virgin Mary of the church of Pallerols, asking her to guide our lives and vocations, as she has done with so many people before us. This trip not only allowed us to discover places full of historical and spiritual significance, but also strengthened our commitment and faith on the path to the priesthood. Without a doubt, an experience we will not forget.
