On Saturday, November 22, 2025, we will celebrate the traditional Rose Encounter Festival in Pallerols de Rialb. We will remember that it was also on November 22 -88 years ago now- that Saint Josemaría found a golden wooden rose in the church that confirmed his decision to continue towards Andorra when he strongly doubted whether or not he was doing God’s will.
The day will begin at 11:30 with the screening of the documentary about Saint Josemaría’s adventure on his escape route to Andorra. The video highlights the difficulties and suffering that the members of the group in which Saint Josemaría was traveling had to endure.
At 12:00 there will be a guided tour of the rectory and the church, and then -at 12:30– there will be a procession around the church with the image of the Virgin of the Rosary, singing the Joys of the Virgin of Pallerols.
Once inside the church, at around 12:50, Holy Mass will be celebrated, which this year will be presided over by Mons. Josep Lluís Serrano, Bishop of Urgell, and concelebrated with the Vicar of Opus Dei in Spain, Mons. Ignacio Barrera, and the Vicar of Catalonia and Andorra, Mons. Ignasi Pujol, together with other priests from the diocese of Urgell and the Prelature of Opus Dei.
At the end of the Eucharist, we will go to the cemetery to say a prayer for the deceased of Pallerols.
Those who wish will be able to have lunch in the surroundings of Pallerols. There will be a fire to make a barbecue or heat up what everyone brings to eat.
At 4 pm there will be, as every year, the recitation of the Rosary and the veneration of the relics of Saint Josemaría.
