On May 1, a group of 35 young people from Sant Cugat del Vallés and surrounding areas visited Pallerols.

Marta, one of the visitors, summarizes this visit for us.

 

Our meeting point was directly at the Pallerols Church. There, they explained the history of the place to us. Some of us who came knew a little about the history; others not so much. But no one was indifferent upon learning the details and conditions of the expedition that Saint Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer, together with other young people, carried out at the end of November 1937.

After the explanation and visit to the house-museum, as we had a priest among those of us, we were lucky enough to attend mass in the same church in Pallerols. It was very nice. Then we walked to see the cabin where Saint Josemaría and the group spent 5 days before continuing to Andorra. The day, which threatened rain, finally helped and it was a very nice and pleasant circular walk where we were able to exchange impressions.

On our return, an aperitif and a fideuá were waiting for us, which we enjoyed wonderfully. We ended the afternoon praying a rosary at the doors of the church.

For many of us who went, it was the first time in Pallerols, but we all wanted to return and do a longer stage, even an entire route lasting several days.

Thanks to the Association of Friends of the Pallerols Way from Rialb to Andorra for opening the doors to us and explaining the history of the place and the expedition of Saint Josemaría Escrivá so well.
