Improvements in the Cabin of St. Raphael<\/span><\/strong> <\/p>\n

From the 22nd to 27th July a group of 11 boys from England and 3 from Scotland stayed in Pallerols for a work camp.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Their task was to finish off the Cabin of St Raphael and the surrounding area. Apart from working on the Cabin itself, they reconstructed a stone bench and a wooden altar according to the drawings we had dating back to 1937.The drawings show the Cabin and its environs and give a good idea of what the expedition of St Josemaria found in place during their stay from 22nd to 27th November of that year. <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The group flew into Barcelona airport on Sunday 22nd of July and that same day drove to Pallerols. On their arrival they pitched the tents that were to provide shelter for the days that followed. Some of them slept in the old school of Pallerols, which was also used to prepare the meals.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The work timetable was from 10am to 1pm and from 3.30pm to 5.30pm daily, although the demands of the work to be done frequently meant longer hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

On the 27th we finished off the work camp with the celebration of Mass on the newly built altar at the Cabin of St Raphael. It was a fitting and moving occasion and gave those present a flavour of what must have been like to celebrate Mass in those surroundings in 1937.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
